Starting with the head

STEP 1: Making the Base

We start with a rounded shape that is going to be the head for today’s topic- the Gingerbread Man. Keep a gap at the bottom while sketching it because we want to make it super cute.

Adding a cute bow

STEP 2: Adding a Bow in the drawing

Here we add a small and cute bow in the gap we left in our step 1 of the drawing process. It will give a smart and friendly appearance to our picture.

Making eyes and mouth

STEP 3: Making the Face

In this step, draw two small ‘bracket ‘-like structures to make the eyes. Our Gingerbread man needs a mouth too, so we made a ‘D’ shape and added one more ‘D’ inside the former shape to create its mouth. Looks good, right?

Let’s proceed further.

Adding details in the face

STEP 4: Adding details

Here we are making our friendly Gingerbread Man more jolly. Draw two curvy lines on its head. Later we are going to make this look like Frosting. For now, add two more rounded shapes below the eyes, to create the blush in its cheeks.

There you go, You have finished drawing the face, Hurray!

Excited to go to the next step? Let’s go then.

Adding hands to Gingerbread Man drawing

STEP 5: Sketching Hands

I know you are super excited to draw the rest of the picture and see how it turns out. Let’s give our Gingerbread man its hands. We sketch two small shapes emerging from below the head.

Hands and Legs done

STEP 6: Adding legs to our Gingerbread Man Drawing

After making the hands, we now add two small legs at the bottom of our drawing and connect the two legs with a small curvy line to give it a complete outline. We are almost done with our drawing. Easy enough, right? Let’s draw some more details.

Adding more details

STEP 7: Adding more details

We drew two curvy lines on its head, do you remember that? Let’s do the same for its hands and legs to make it appear beautiful. You can add some dots too that has been shown in the picture.

How about adding two buttons on the body to look better?

Let's colour

STEP 8: Start putting colours

You have already drawn the picture so well, Congratulations on that. Now it is time to add some colours and make it vivid and festive-ready.

We start by colouring its bow and the two cute blushes with some bright shades of Orange and Red.

Colour the whole body

STEP 9: Colour the remaining parts

Take a light brown and start colouring from the top of the picture, keeping the white space in the curvy lines uncoloured. Doesn’t it look like the snow-white frosting on top of our image?

Gradually colour the body, hands and legs of our Gingerbread man. There it is, nearly finished. Still excited to explore more?

The final picture- Gingerbread Man

STEP 10: The finishing touch

Woohoo, you have made it this far. Wonderful Champ. This one is the last step of our ‘Gingerbread Man Drawing’. Here you just need to put some dark brows to make the buttons visible to our eyes. I want you to take a Grey colour now. Start making borders with it around the right parts of the legs, the body and the head. It is just to make the picture look a little bit elevated from the paper.

Yay! It is done. Wonderful, artist.
