Hi, dear artists!

In today’s lesson, we are going to create a bright Mango Drawing using simple shapes and vivid colors. Mango is one of the most favorite fruits due to its juiciness, sweetness, and sunny appearance. Besides, it’s rather easy to depict the mango due to its smooth lines.

Our Mango Drawing will be a funny and simple drawing project which consists of a simple mango outline, stem, leaf, smile and colors. In the end of our lesson you will have a funny and bright mango that will be perfect for your collection of fruit drawings.

To draw the mango, I used Sharpie marker for outlines and acrylic markers for coloring. But if you don’t have those materials – it’s alright, you can use any drawing materials you have at home, such as crayons, sketch pens or colored pencils.

Let’s begin our Mango Drawing!

Step 1: Begin Drawing the Mango by Drawing a Long Curve

To start the Mango Drawing, let’s draw a single long curve. This curve will represent one side of the fruit and help create the rounded shape of the fruit.

Don’t be too concerned about perfection. Mangoes usually have some imperfections; therefore, a soft curve is what we need here. Relax your hand and try to draw the curve in one smooth motion.

Step 2: Finish Drawing the Mango Fruit

Finish drawing the mango fruit by drawing the second part of it. Draw a line connecting the first curve to the bottom so that there is a complete picture of the mango fruit.

Your mango should be rounded at the top and bigger in the middle, with a bit narrower bottom part. The fruit already looks realistic at this step despite having no details yet.

Step 3: Add the Stem to the Mango Picture

Add the stem to the mango picture right above it. The stem can be small and slightly slanted. The stem does not have to be big or thick.

Adding the stem to your fruit picture is an important step. The simple shape will be perfect. While creating a Mango Drawing, pay attention to the details and keep the stem clean.

Step 4: Add the Leaf and the Sweet Face to Your Mango Drawing

Draw a leaf connected to the stem of the fruit. You can make the leaf long and slightly curved, and then add a middle line with some veins on it. Next, add the cute face to your mango with two little curved eyes and a smile.

The final step of your drawing adds character to it. With a happy smile, the mango becomes more friendly and funny.

Step 5: Coloring of the Mango

Take a yellow colored marker and color the mango fruit in the picture. Carefully color the entire mango leaving the face details clear.

Yellow color suits perfectly well to draw a mango because it gives the fruit a ripe, lively, and energetic appearance. If you like you can try drawing the mango using yellowish orange color.

Step 6: Adding Colors to the Leaf and Stem

Now color the leaf green and stem brown to give an additional touch of natural appearance to your Mango Drawing.

Green colored leaf gives a fresh look against the yellow mango fruit. With the use of just a few colors, your Mango Drawing will look vibrant and attractive.

Step : Complete Your Mango Drawing

In order to complete your drawing, you need to add pink cheeks on each side of the happy face. Additionally, you may want to add a little white spot that would make the mango seem shiny.

Those little additions will make a huge difference. The cheeks will help your mango look cute, while the highlight will give it an element of playfulness. This way, your Mango Drawing is ready to be presented.

Why Do Kids Like Mango Drawing

The reason why kids like to draw a mango is that it starts from one simple fruit outline and then turns cute by adding only a couple of details. Children get immediate results, and therefore, enjoy the drawing process.

Moreover, a mango drawing helps children to learn to draw curves, color smoothly, and work with simple facial expressions since the form of the fruit is quite understandable.
