For this project, I have used a Sharpie marker along with acrylic markers. However, you can use these same materials if you wish, but if you want, you can use any other art supplies you might have available. Some alternatives are crayons, sketch pens, colored pencils, or even ordinary pencils.

Step 1: Start Your Sea Turtle Drawing with the Head

Our first step in drawing the sea turtle involves sketching the head, which we’ll achieve by creating an oval shape. Ensure that you make the shape tilted to give our turtle a lively character.

At this point, we aren’t concerned about adding details. All we’re doing here is making a rough guideline for drawing the rest of the sea turtle.

Step 2: Draw the Sea Turtle Shell

Following the head, we add a much larger curved shell on top of it. This structure, which is bigger compared to the head, acts as the protective covering of the turtle’s body. A curve line below will form the lower part of the shell.

This will start forming the turtle’s outline.

Step 3: Add the Sea Turtle Flippers

To make the turtle appear more realistic, we have to draw its flippers under the shell. These are shaped like paddles and aid the turtle in swimming. Make sure that there is a tail below the shell.

Step 4: Add Details to Your Drawing by Making Shell Patterns on the Sea Turtle

Let us now make our drawing more detailed by making a happy face on the turtle’s head, with simple curved lines for the eyes and mouth. Next, draw a few dots on the turtle’s shell.

The patterns created by the dots make the drawing of the sea turtle much more fascinating and lively.

Step 5: Coloring the Shell of the Sea Turtle

Next, you should take a brown marker and color the entire shell of the sea turtle. At this stage, the dots should remain without coloring.

Coloring brings life into the picture, which is why it’s necessary to begin adding colors right away.

Step 6: Adding Color to the Whole Sea Turtle Picture

To complete our drawing, we will need a green marker, which we will apply to color the turtle’s head, legs, tail, and under part of its shell.

If you want, you can choose either a light or dark shade of green.

Step 7: Finish Drawing Your Sea Turtle

Use a warm yellow color to fill in the shell spots. Then draw some small dots on the flippers and add a couple of curved lines below the turtle to give it some movement.
