Step 1: Drawing the Head of the Dragon and its Horns

For starters, draw the head of the dragon. You will need to give it two pointed horns to give the dragon a mystical touch.

 

Step 2: Adding the Neck and Front Leg

Here, we will be adding a body to our dragon. Drawing from the head, make a curving line until you get the shape for its neck. You can then add the front leg just below the neck area. Make sure that the lines are smooth and flowing. At this stage, the dragon looks incomplete, but there must always be a start in every good sketch.

 

Step 3: Adding the Dragon’s Back and Tail

Starting from the tail end of the neck, make a long curving line to reach the other end to form the tail. Since dragons are characterized by their long tails, you can make yours slightly curving.

Step 4: Draw the Tail and Back Leg

After that, connect the bottom part to the tail. Also, draw the back leg of the dragon under its body. Try to make the two legs equally big. It is important that the dragon looks fully-fledged and stands proud.

Step 5: Give the Dragon a Cute Belly

To make the dragon even cuter, you can draw a rounded shape of a belly near the front of its body. With this detail, you will emphasize that it is an adorable creature. Note that soft lines give cuteness; sharp outlines do not work well.

Step 6: Don’t Forget to Draw Wings

Dragons need wings! For this reason, draw a large one behind the dragon’s body using curved lines. The dragon’s wing may be whatever size you want. Drawing the wing is critical since it makes the picture magical.
