Learn How to Draw a Sheep| A Step-by-Step Guidelines

Learn how to draw a sheep for kids with these simple, step-by-step tutorials. How well-versed in drawing sheep are your kids? Otherwise, you’ll need to teach them basic techniques for drawing the sheep as quickly and easily as possible. Kids may learn about different species’ physical and behavioral features by practising animal sketching skills.

Drawing a sheep on paper seems effortless to certain children. However, drawing basic shapes or patterns might be difficult for young children in preschool and kindergarten. That way, you can teach them how to draw a sheep efficiently and methodically.

Let’s Get Started- How to Draw a Sheep

These guidelines provide a simple, step-by-step guide for drawing the sheep’s head, body, legs, arms, and tail. This makes portraying sheep easier for kids and helps them understand more about the animal.

Step 1: Draw a Furry Head of the Sheep

To initiate our sheep drawing, we shall draw some fully wool first, to create the upper head part. Leave the bottom section disconnected with a gap to draw its ears. We shall continue in the next part.

Step 2: Draw the Sheep’s Ears

Let us add the ears now, on either side of the head, draw a leaf like structure for sheep’s ears. And complete the outline of the sheep’s head by drawing a furry lower part of the head.

Step 3: Add Some Details

In this step, you should add some detailed features like forehead hairs. So, let us draw another fully wool layer on the sheep’s forehead.

Step 4: Create a Cute Facial Expression

Now, sketch the sheep’s cute little eyes, the nose as triangular shape and the mouth as rounded lines. Good Job! Now your sheep looks so pretty!

Step 5: Outline the Entire Body of the Sheep

Create the oval-shaped, fluffy body of the sheep by drawing a line with several curves. When properly sketched, the body should be portrayed as a fluffy cotton ball. The sheep will seem fatter in proportion to the form. The sheep is quite cute because of its round, heavy body covered in fleece!

Draw four U-shaped furry curving lines just beneath the body’s surface to form the sheep’s four visible legs. Also, draw a curved line for the inner layer of the sheep’s ears. After completing all these step, don’t forget to add the furry tail as shown in the reference image.

Step 6: Color Your Cute Sheep

You’ve done it—you’ve sketched a cute, fuzzy sheep! Congratulations! Choosing and coloring the sheep is the most awaited step, and it’s now time. Certain sheep have wool with a white than the darker color, the ones we usually observe.

So you can opt to choose their traditional color or use a unique set of colors. In this sample picture, we have used grey color to shade the entire body to give a complete look of white sheep. Also, add some pink blushes on the cheeks and fill pink shade for the sheep’s inner layer of ears.

Hurray! You have successfully completed the sheep drawing! How is your cute sheep drawing look like?
